Continuing Education Credits

As part of your MAPPO membership, each member receives continuing education credits/units (CEUs) that can be applied toward their MCPPO certification offered by the Office of the Inspector General. MCPPO designees may earn the remaining continuing education credits to fulfill the 25-credit requirement through other professional affiliations and trainings or attendance at one or more additional MCPPO seminars.

How to Earn CEUs

  • 14 credits for MCPPO Recertification course
  • Two CEUs per year of membership just for being a member of MAPPO
  • One credit per hour of continuing education (ie our monthly meetings), or for other meetings like MFAA, OSD Conferences, MASBO, etc.
  • Up to 10 credits for the successful completion of a relevant university or college class
  • Two credits for serving as an active board member of MAPPO or other MCPPO-approved organization
  • Five credits for serving as an officer of MAPPO or other MCPPO-approved organization

Members are responsible for renewing their MCPPO certification every three years. The OIG has created a helpful guide detailing the documentation required to complete your recertification, found here.

Please contact Michael Richards (mrichards@somervillema.gov) to request your CEU updates.
